About

Riverzedge is currently in search of knowledgeable, patient, and communicative volunteers to help our participants meet their academic goals. Our participants are hardworking individuals, but some of them are in need of individual instruction, support, and encouragement when it comes to achieving their full academic potential.

If you are, or know someone, that gets excited about the idea of empowering youth and assisting them to discover their true academic capabilities, and have 2 hours of your time on Monday from 3-5p to donate, please read the following volunteer description and requirements:

Riverzedge is looking for reliable volunteers who are comfortable and confident tutoring high school age students in wide array subjects. Volunteer tutors will have a background in or will be very knowledgeable of either math (pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, etc), science (chemistry, biology, etc), english (9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade level), or foreign languages (Spanish and French).

Tutors will be patient, have a passion for education, and enjoy working with youth.

Our volunteer tutors will be expected to have confidence in youth and their ability to be successful in high school and beyond.

Tutors will celebrate the diversity of Riverzedge youth and be empathetic and respectful of all the perspectives they may come from and particular challenges they may face.

Tutors will form positive relationships with youth and be motivated to have youth succeed, putting in the energy and work that is needed to do so.
