RI Works Summer Project Mentor

This has ended. If you attended, let the organizer know by recording your Impact!

We are looking for mentors in various fields that have time (est. 2-4 hours a week) to virtually work with and guide students in creating, developing and completing a student led, emergent-curriculum based project over the course of summer vacation. Prior formal educational experience is valued but not essential for the right candidate. This is a paid contractor position.

Examples: are you a writer or an illustrator who can help a student create a story of their own? Are you an engineer or an architect that can help a student design something useful for their neighborhood? A coder that can help a student make their own app or game? A chef who can teach them how to make their own culinary creations? If you have skills or experience that you can share with our students, we want to hear from you!

If you have experience in a role or area that students in grades 6-12 might have an interest in and feel competent in mentoring and helping to develop skills in that field: please send an introductory email, a third-person biography no more than one page explaining your background and skills and a suitable photo for our “mentor catalogue” that our students will select their summer mentor from to ksimons@comcap.org.
