About
Power 2 the Pupil and the PAVED Research Initiative are recruiting volunteers to serve as facilitators and operational assistants during a series of events that will help youth in Providence Public Schools decide how a budget should be spent and used for the Providence Public School school district. This is a great opportunity for undergraduate students interested in participatory democracy, youth empowerment, and youth and community engagement. To learn more about PAVED Research Initiative and its projects, check out its project website here.
There are 3 days we need volunteers for. Each day has its required training. Each day is in-person only, there is no option to engage with this remotely. You don't have to be available for all days to volunteer (the dates could be subject to change):
- Day 1 , Thursday, June 8th, 2023 (8:00 am - 3:00 pm time commitment)
- Required training on May 31st, June 5th and 6th (12:00 - 1:00 pm ET).
- Day 2 & 3, Monday, June 12th, and Tuesday, June 13th, 2023 (8:00 am - 3:00 pm time commitment)
Volunteer Stipends: $150-$300 (depending on level of involvement). Baseline pay ($150) is for volunteers who attend the required training session and the full day of activities happening on June 8th.
