Learned more about the Swearer Center's programs and purposes, and the history of Brown in relation to Providence communities. I enjoyed the workshops and was surprised by much of the information, which makes me feel ashamed since I am a senior at Brown but I am glad that I nevertheless learned about them before I graduated.

I thought the presentations were really effective and powerful--reminding me of my privilege and power and how to use it effectively, not oppressively. I think it is incredibly important to be reminded of our surroundings and not allow College Hill to be representative of the broader Providence Community. My only issue was that the presentations and workshops amounted to a lot of time.

It was really good to get a better idea about what exactly the Swearer Center does and how many different programs they have available for students at Brown. It was also really interesting to get to learn about the history of Brown and Rhode Island through maps and facts. Sometimes the discussion times were too long for the questions asked.
