SEADD is a student-led organization that strives to develop a creative space where adults with developmental disabilities and Brown students can come together to express themselves. We partner with the Arc of Blackstone Valley; we are also a part of the Brown Swearer Center's Community Corps program. Through our weekly workshops, we create meaningful art that fosters fulfilling relationships and brings together diverse communities.
Hour-long workshops and hour-long general body meetings are held weekly. Workshop schedules and locations are determined based on student availability. General body meetings take place Sundays at 5. Workshops consist of approximately three Brown students and a handful of adults. You may work to create anything from abstract art to elaborate plays - the point is expression. At general body meetings, we discuss lesson plans, development strategies, and advocacy.
