Comprehensive Community Action Program is a private, nonprofit community action agency formed under the 1964 Economic Opportunity Act.
CCAP is one of Rhode Island’s largest organizations dedicated solely to fighting the war on poverty. Our professional staff provides a wide spectrum of services designed to help those in immediate need and empower anyone desiring to become more self-sufficient.
CCAP is the lead vendor for the RI Works program throughout the state which provides intense case management to residents/families and assists individuals with training and placement in permanent, full-time employment to guide them towards self-sufficiency. One of our more recent additions to that program is the Virtual Tutoring/Mentoring Program which provides educational support to the children of those families, as well as any individuals in the program pursuing their GED certificate. We endeavor to help and support these students through any educational challenges and give them the aid and tools to succeed and utilize academic success as a pathway out of systemic poverty.
