Engaged Scholars Program

Rainbow Chen spent her practicum in the U.S. Senate working for Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in Washington, DC, where she served as a Congressional Intern that managed a variety of tasks that play a role in Sanders' Senate office. Rainbow worked on direct constituent correspondence, ENR and EPW Committee Hearing Notes, Capitol Tours, attended education staff meetings, and conducted research for current programs and upcoming bills. She also redesigned the Congressional Intern handbook and created more structural systems that ensured a smoother transition for future interns to understand the Senate and the way of the office.
