I had 2 sessions during the course of the last month with my learner — it's a bit upsetting that we end up missing so many sessions due to staff constraints, but it's still always so good to see my learner and spend time with her. We had a really good time doing more spelling and maths, and I'm also always happy to see the staff-person that accompanies my learner. My learner is very comfortable spelling my full name now (we start with names) which is sweet to see :)

This was my first Spring session with my learner — we got off to a slow start due to logistical issues but it was SO fun reuniting with her and her staff. We had a really awesome first session this semester setting broad learning goals and I'm very much looking forward to the rest of our sessions.
This was our first Policy team meeting with Michelle, Clark, Laura (PC student), and myself. We chatted about goals for the semester-- although we're getting off to a slow start, we're excited about doing a form of event-based outreach to youth in Providence. Also, Clark is working on some cool medical-related initiatives that I'm excited to possibly support.
Today was PAL's Spring orientation — it was great to see the old leadership crew again and also spend some time reflecting on best practices for PAL sessions. I'm excited to start sessions this semester!
This impact covers the last few team meetings we've had for Home to Hope. They've been really fun and productive-- in particular we covered a lot of reflections on why we're all involved in Home to Hope, in order to come up with a new name for the organisation. Also, we had a lot of fun team building courtesy of Julnelle which was great!
This was our second team meeting of the semester for Home to Hope — exciting stuff as we got to speak with Michelle about some policy topics as well as the goal of getting YHDP funding for the state of RI. Also, we brainstormed new names for Home to Hope which was really fun, we're all excited to see where the organisation goes. Julnelle did a really great job with a team building activity which was awesome! :)
We had our first team meeting of the semester — it was great to catch up with everyone after a month of not seeing them (esp. Tory and Julnelle) and also to meet the new people on our team! I'm really excited to see where H2H goes this semester especially given its new transition into House of Hope :)
I attended the PAL celebration but only for a bit because my learner unfortunately ended up not being able to make it to the event. It was fun though to connect with other PAL tutors and also see what other learners had been working on this semester. The event is always very heartwarming! :)
