Training and first lesson planning
Bella Cavicchi worked remotely as an Education Intern with Children’s Theatre Company, a theatre organization in Minneapolis, MN that produces shows specifically for young audiences. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, CTC redesigned their summer theatre camps for children and teens, creating an online set of classes in the CTC "Virtual Academy." She was a classroom assistant for thirteen courses over the summer, supporting teaching artists by modeling and leading activities, facilitating small groups, and answering student questions. Given the initial success of this summer's virtual programs -- and building on the feedback of interns and teaching artists alike -- CTC will continue to offer remote theatre classes into the fall, once again creating a space for wonder and play in an unusual and uncertain time.
