Morgan Awner completed her practicum in Providence, Rhode Island with the Providence Student Union (PSU) which works to build student power to allow students to advocate for their education and wellbeing. In the past, the Providence Student Union created a Student Bill of Rights, advocated for ethnic studies classes in the Providence high schools, and fought for free bus passes for students. As a Chapter Coordinator for the Hope High School PSU Chapter, Morgan worked to recruit new students and helped launch the Food for Thought campaign. Through this campaign, students are organizing to increase the quality and quantity of meals provided by schools. On top of her first hand experience in Providence schools, Morgan wrote, conducted interviews, and hosted a podcast series with the Brown Political Review on the Providence Schools State Takeover.
