Introduced information about pianist Arthur Rubinstein and mostly listened to different types of music including classical piano, African pop and traditional music, and nursery songs.
Worked on spelling words with learner and introduced basic addition and subtraction with visual aids for the first time. Learner was very enthusiastic and willing to complete take home assignments.
I met with my second learner for the first time today. Most of the time was getting to know each other; we talked about geography of Africa and then discussed potential topics to cover. We decided with musical history, with piano as a specific subject. We plan on covering both academic and nonacademic topics.
Today I met with my student and we went over spelling and reading. She was very enthusiastic and never discouraged when she made mistakes. We did not use the original list of site words I had made, but rather learned words and sentences that my student wanted to know how to read/spell.
