This block of time was spent address the first round of comments/edits from Helene, Allie, and Brooke on the PIP grant application video. There were a few difficulties with my internet access, which I will need to take more into consideration while I continue my work with P3 this remote semester. I also spent a lot of this time, going into the next day, emailing about potential future edits I'll need to address. Overall, communication has been good, both Helene and Allie are very supportive and provide detailed feedback :)
This block of time was used for editing the PIP grant application video. The first draft was submitted later on Sat. or Sun. Both Helene and Allie were available for questions via text/email. This process felt very straightforward in terms of editing.
We talked more in depth about the PIP grant video. This meeting really helped me sketch the direction and vision of the video. This being, roughly, the contrast of technology with fresh produce. Allie and Helene both offered their own thoughts and were very patient with my editing process.
This was a quick Bonner Check-In with P3. Helene and Allie updated me on P3's summer and spring programing. Much of which involved writing grants; sending kits; addressing community food insecurity, and launching the pilot program, Produce in the Parks. We talked about editing a video for one of PIP's grant applications. I will receive raw footage the upcoming Wed. 14th. It was nice to hear from them both again, and as always, I appreciate their enthusiasm and patience.
We talked about future directions and potential projects. It was good to see Helene and Allie again. They're both so supportive and understanding.
I provided support at the P3 2019 Fall RootSkills workshop. While at the workshop, I engaged with a variety of community partner leaders and representatives. The amount of experience and knowledge in one room was enriching. My participation in the workshop was overall guiding and very influential. I'd love to help at future P3 workshops.
Spent the afternoon writing out the first draft of the Police Fall Festival RWP blog post and adding final edits to the Brown St. Halloween video. Doing both of these tasks touches up on my both my writing and video editing skills. An overall pleasant experience :))
I attended the Fall Festival event at Roger Williams Park. I helped out with face painting and clean-up. The atmosphere was lively and full of autumn fun. I surprised myself when I successfully painted a mini lion and spider-man onto multiple kids' faces. Another lovely afternoon spent working with P3.
Helped with P3's girls' club event. I helped set up and managed two stations (Strength, Confidence). After conducting the physical motions of each station, I really like the amount of interesting conversations I had with the girls afterwards. I ask some general questions in regards to Strength and Confidence, and the rec center girls responded with some genuinely thought provoking answers--answers I'll continue to carry with me. I feel like I learned more about Strength and Confidence through these simple interactions. Overall, another great P3 event. :))
