A really good lesson planning session; this was my first planning meeting and it was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. It required a lot of creativity to come up with games and activities that are both engaging and related to the material, but I'm quite happy with what we came up with, and also feel like I'm learning a lot just through discussion about the students. I'm also learning a lot about the necessity of the particulars, and making sure we know the details of every stage of the activity (e.g. time and location), which is a really helpful skill to be picking up.
I think there's been visible improvement in our lesson planning and its effects – we've gained a better understanding of what the students want, and our activities are now a lot more hands-on (e.g. play-doh instead of paper). Plus, we've noticed that their attention spans are a lot shorter than we'd originally planned for, so our activities are now styled to be more continuously engaging.
