this time I stayed for two periods since the students who came after wanted to ask me some questions. I also introduced kahoot again for the students to practice their math skills since they were all not doing the worksheets.

I got to work with two students who came to me with questions which was very nice
Mr. costa handed out worksheets and I helped answer some questions. not that amazing and many students did not show up
I went back to mr costa‘s room and the kids all recognized me which was nice and then I worked the lesson with denis and dilan.
Mr Costa did not show up to class so I had to design the entire lesson. At first we tried to make a kahoot for one step equations but the computer logged out. After that I wrote couple equations on the smartboard and the kids were decently receptive.
This time I helped out Mr. Costa again, but because of the way the period system works, I helped out a new class. Since I didn’t know the class that well, I just went from one kid to the next instead of getting a little group together to focus with them.
I focussed on helping two boys today. I explained the concepts that they were learning in class, in a more streamlined version, which meant they could focus on the questions instead of wasting time with theory.
Today was very productive with three kids where they could complete their worksheets at the end of the class. One kid was struggling a lot and talked about dropping out.
One of the girls gave the kid a cookie that she had packed, which was something that I found very sweet and thoughtful.
I was in ms. Columbo‘s classroom, the physics class, where the children were given a lab to do. Some of the girls I helped were very eager to learn and eagerly did the work. When I went to one group of girls, I was given a rude comment, where a girl said she didn‘t want me to help her. I didn‘t know how to respond so I told the teacher and went to other groups who wanted my help more.
I was in mr. Costa‘s room. mr costa replaced mr diop, the teacher who I was initially assigned to, so the kids knew me. In this class I mainly helped a group of three boys, so they finished their worksheet and then we talked a bit about Switzerland, since they knew that I had gone home. Mr. Costa worked with the other half of the class, so the whole class was pretty productive.
