Impacts
We have tentatively filled 6 VISTA positions with Beat the Streets, Breakthrough Providence, Inspiring Minds, Providence Public Library, Youth in Action, and the Swearer Center, including the VISTA Leader. We are currently recruiting for the remaining positions on a rolling basis.
I've been continuing VISTA Recruitment for the 7/6/2021 VMO, including reviewing applications on eGrants, supplemental applications, and a few phone screens. The priority application deadline was March 12 but we are accepting applications until April 30. For our March PD session, Carole Ann Penney led a Leadership Workshop and I found it really insightful. The topic was "Your Purpose at Work: What's Your Why?" As a cohort we discussed new mindsets for navigating our current work and our future career path, deepening our connection with our personal "why." We also reflected on how to make our current work more meaningful and choose or create future work that aligns with our unique sense of purpose.
On Tuesday, I attended the December CPN meeting. Nadia and I worked on updating the VISTA Midpoint Performance Review Evaluation Form, which was sent out on Friday, December 11, 2020.
I attended two AmeriCorps webinars this week, "Showing VISTA Members You Care" and "MLK Day of Service in the time of COVID-19." We also had a December CPN planning meeting and I continued to hold VISTA member check-ins.
Nadia and I continued to work on the VISTA Progress Reporting this week. On Monday night, I was able to join for some of the Royce 0.5 presentations. The November CPN Meeting was on Tuesday, as well as a VISTA Supervisor Meeting. It was great to touch base with the VISTA sub-site supervisors and hear positive feedback about the VISTAs from every supervisor.
