I retired from The Providence Journal where I worked first as a reporter and then editor for 24 years. My wife and I moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico, where I was editor of the Las Cruces Sun-News. After retirement, I enrolled at New Mexico State University, where I earned a Master's Degree in English which allowed me to be an adjunct English instructor teaching developmental reading and writing at Dona Ana Community College. I also became a volunteer tutor and tutor-trainer with Literacy Volunteers of Dona Ana County.
